About Me
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural (Mexican-born) licensed clinical social worker in the state of California. I have worked with children and families in school, clinic, and community mental health settings, and am especially passionate about working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQ+ individuals. My current focus is on working with adults who have experienced trauma, as well as those dealing with interpersonal conflict, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, acculturation challenges, and adjustment to life changes.
I aim to create an atmosphere where clients can feel comfortable to be themselves. I have a therapeutic style that is both flexible enough to tailor interventions to each client, while structured in the approach of addressing specific treatment goals. I have seen how change comes about as a result of learning about oneself and making intentional behavioral changes that attend to that awareness. To support clients with making these changes, I collaborate with them to create a treatment plan that gives them a clear sense of what they are working toward and how to get there. Part of this plan will include psychoeducation, self-reflection, and utilizing tools and techniques outside of sessions. While this change is often uncomfortable, it is ultimately through challenging ourselves that we find growth and confidence.
